Distance between Guangzhou in the south of China and Lhasa in the southwest corner is over 3,200km. At present, train travel distance via the Qinghai-Tibet highway is nearly 5,000km taking around 52 hours. It is quite a time-consuming journey. Many visitors would choose the connecting train plan when the high-speed railway reached Lanzhou city in 2017. You can fly or take the high-speed train from Guangzhou to Lanzhou, then experience the ascending from Lanzhou to Lhasa on the Tibet Plateau.
