Detail Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Chengdu (arrival flight at your own expense)

Upon arrival at Chengdu airport (or train station), our guide will be waiting for you with a sign bearing your name. You will be driven directly to your hotel in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle. Take some time to rest at the hotel and get ready for the adventure that awaits you.

Day 2: Chengdu to Wolong to Rilong - Wolong Panda Reserve

In the morning, we will depart from Chengdu and head to Rilong, a distance of approximately 200 km that will take about 5-6 hours by car.

Along the way, we will visit the Wolong Panda Reserve, the first panda reserve in China, established in the 1980s. It is considered one of the best panda reserves in the country.

We will spend the night in Rilong.

Day 3 Rilong - Changping Valley, Mt. Siguniang

After breakfast, head to the Changping Valley. The 29-km-long Changping Valley is located next to Mt. Siguniang. In the valley, you can see the beautiful snow-capped Mt. Siguniang from afar, one of the most beautiful snow mountains in Sichuan, Tibetan villages, and a monastery.

Note: Prepare some food to eat. You can visit the valley on horseback. The price varies depending on the distance. The horse rental fee is at your own expense.

After the visit, return to the village of Rilong and overnight at the hotel.

Day 4 Rilong to Danba by car - Shuangqiao Valley, Jiaju Tibetan Village, Suopo Stone Watchtowers

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Shuangqiao Valley, renowned for its stunning natural landscapes featuring picturesque mountains, pristine forests, rocks, and vast meadows. Afterwards, continue on to Danba, which is approximately 4 hours away by car.

 

Danba is famously referred to as the "Kingdom of a Thousand Ancient Stone Watchtowers" and is home to the Jiarong Tibetans, a tribe of Tibetans. You'll have the opportunity to visit typical Tibetan villages, as well as the Jiaju Tibetan Village, where you can marvel at beautiful traditional residences adorned in red, white, and black colors. It's a truly captivating place to explore. Additionally, you can take in the Suopo Stone Watchtowers from afar, which are a typical architectural feature of the Danba region.

 

You'll spend the night at a hotel in Danba.

Day 5 Danba to Bamei to Tagong to Xinduqiao - Huiyuan Monastery, Tagong Grassland, Tagong Monastery

After visiting the Huiyuan Monastery in Bamei in the morning, which is home to two hundred lamas and has 75 pagodas, continue on to Xinduqiao. On the way, you can enjoy the natural beauty of the Tagong Grassland. In Tagong, you will also have the opportunity to visit the Tagong Monastery, a famous Tibetan monastery in Sichuan with over a thousand years of history. After the visit, head to Xinduqiao, which is considered a photographer's paradise with landscapes that change with each of the four seasons.

Accommodation: overnight in Xinduqiao.

Day 6: Xinduqiao to Kangding to Hailuogou by car.

After breakfast, enjoy the natural scenery in Xinduqiao before heading towards Kangding. Kangding is a small town nestled in valleys and is known for a traditional Chinese song. We will have lunch in Kangding before continuing on to Hailuogou, a beautiful valley known for its snow-capped mountains, forests, and hot springs.

Day 7: Hailuogou - Hailuogou Valley.

Today is dedicated to the Hailuogou Valley, known for its glaciers and hot springs. The Hailuogou Valley is composed of four different bases. Take valley shuttles through bases 1, 2, and 3 until reaching base 4. You can take cable cars to the viewpoint for a magnificent view of the glacier.

 

Hotels: overnight in Moxi (a town at the entrance of Hailuogou)

Day 8: Hailuogou to Chengdu by car. Breakfast included.

After breakfast, we will drive to Chengdu. End of service.

Please note that the road journey takes approximately 5 to 6 hours. Plan one more night in Chengdu or evening flight/train to next destination.

Note:

During the western Sichuan tour, we offer suitable hotels with private bathrooms, hot water, and necessary amenities, in comparison to the larger cities in Sichuan. While some hotels may not be luxurious, they are charming hotels that we've handpicked. We prioritize reserving local-style hotels to provide an authentic experience of the local architecture.

 

Transportation:

For internal transportation during visits, we provide well-maintained vehicles with experienced drivers, ensuring a safe and comfortable ride.


Change and Cancellation Policy

  1. 15 days before commencement of services: 100% refund.

  2. 7 to 14 days before commencement of services: charge 10% of the tour price.

  3. 2 to 6 days before commencement of services: charge 50% of the tour price.

  4. Within 2 days of commencement of services or no-show travelers: charge 100% of the tour price.

  5. After the trip has commenced, we are unable to refund any amount for unused services due to your willingness, early departure, late arrival, or missed days on tours.
