Detail Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Hangzhou – Lingyin Temple and Flying Peak, Meijiawu Tea Plantation

Guide will meet you at Hangzhou airport (or train station) with your name sign and takes you directly to the hotel (or tourist sites) by air-conditioned vehicle. The afternoon time is dedicated to the sights of Lingyin Temple, Flying Peak and Meijiawu Tea Plantation.

Located in the northwest of Hangzhou, Lingyin Temple is one of the main Buddhist temples in China with numerous centuries-old stone carvings and pagodas. The Flying Peak stands next to the temple in unique shape. The rocks feature hundreds of carvings. Many of the Buddhas (some contained within caves) are enduring art of Buddhism in the area.

Tea culture is one the prominent parts of Hangzhou culture. And Meijiawu is a good place to experience all from picking tea to tea ceremony. This 600-year old village with more than 500 households has been a famous production base of Longjing Tea since 1950s and received many world-renowned celebrities.

Back to the city in the late afternoon. Evening time will be leisure on your own or enjoy a show called enduring Hangzhou (optional).

Day 2 Hangzhou – West Lake, Guo’s Garden and Huqingyutang Pharmacy

We start the visit from West Lake which is considered as the soul of Hangzhou. It has been an inspiring place from ancient times for Chinese poems, painters and garden designers. In the 5.6 square kilometers lake area, there are more than 100 scenic spots and relics including temples, pagodas, museums, gardens and bridges. We will take a walk along parts of the willow-lined banks and boat on the lake to enjoy the mist-covered hills.

Located by the West Lake, Guo’s Garden (Guo’s villa) is a truly hidden gem. It is the best existing traditional private residence in Hangzhou, on the same level as those classic Suzhou gardens. Rockeries, trees, ponds, pavilions and garden are carefully designed to create a feeling of tranquility and close connection to nature.

Our last stop is Huqingyutang Pharmacy, on the Qinghefang Street not far from the lake area. Founded in 1864, Huqingyutang is one of the two most famous traditional Chinese medicine stores in China. This century-old medicine store is still an active pharmacy, devoting to the production of traditional medicine. Here you can view very informative presentation of various herbs, flowers, minerals and animals used in the medicine, talk to doctors/pharmacists, or just watch them preparing medicine.

When tour ends, transfer to airport/train station for your departure transport.
