Arrive Guilin by train or flight, we will greet you and get to hotel for check in. The rest of the day, we explore the city’s essentials starting from Reed Flute Cave, a very impressive underground cave full of beautiful formations with lights highlighted their shapes. Then we move back for another landmark of the city, Elephant Trunk Hill. It is located right at the heart of the city at the confluence of Peach Blossom and Li River. The hill has u–shaped cave in the front making it looks like a giant elephant drinking water in the river. It is a typical scenery of karst topography in Guangxi area. We end up the day with a leisure walk along the lakefront trail to absorb in the views that the garden-like city provides. Optional evening cruise over the four lakes is also very popular.
We start from hotel around 8:15am to Mopanshan cruise pier and board the newly decorated 3-star ship for a 4-5 hours journey on the Li River. Guide will accompany you for the whole journey, sharing you interesting legends of the hills, villages alongside, and helping to shot with the picturesque scenery.
We reach Yangshuo around 2pm. If weather permits, we will immerse in the countryside beauty along the Yulong River which is reputed as the “Little Li River” for its enchanting natural landscape of “Karst” mountains. The best way for the trip is biking, hiking or taking battery car as no private motor vehicles are allowed into the scenic area.
Evening hours is free on your own or enjoy an optional show – Impression Liu Sanjie.
After breakfast, we are off to the airport and visit Xianggong Mountain on the way to Guilin. Xiangong Mountain has been a photographer base. Many visitors come for a bird view of the U-shape Li River nestling in soaring peaks. There are hundreds of stone steps leading to the viewpoints but doable for all unless those having knees problem.
