Giant pandas live mainly in the mountain forests of Sichuan, Shaanxi and Gansu, at an altitude of 800-3000 meters in China.
Few big zoos in China offer the chances to see pandas, but the best places to know pandas is at Chengdu Panda Breeding and Researching Center, Dujiangyan Panda Base or Bifengxia Giant Panda Base in Chengdu, Sichuan province.
For panda lovers, we recommend Dujiangyan Giant Panda Base which offers interactive experience of “Panda Keeper Program”. In the day schedule, travelers can assist caretakers for their daily work including waking the pandas up, cleaning the enclosures and preparing a feast of bamboo for meals.
