On November 24th, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mao Ning, announced that, in order to facilitate high-quality development and high-level opening-up for the convenience of international personnel exchanges, China has decided to experiment with expanding the range of unilateral visa exemptions. This policy applies to holders of ordinary passports from six countries: France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and Malaysia. From December 1, 2023, to November 30, 2024, individuals from these countries holding ordinary passports can enter China for business, tourism, family visits, or transit for up to 15 days without the need for a visa.
