It's a place where history feels alive, nature feels close, and time seems to move a little more gently.

It is also the cultural heartland of the Naxi people and their unique Dongba traditions.

Highlights of Lijiang

A Crossroads of Cultures
Once a major stop on the ancient Tea Horse Road, Lijiang connected Tibet, Yunnan, and central China. The Old Town has no city walls, and its architecture blends Han, Bai, Tibetan, and Naxi influences, creating a distinctive local style.

Living Naxi Culture
The Naxi people have their own ancient pictographic writing system - Dongba script. Visitors can explore Dongba art workshops, learn about the symbols, or enjoy Naxi Ancient Music, often described as a "living fossil" of traditional Chinese music.

From Tourist City to Long-Stay Haven
Lijiang is famous for its slow-paced lifestyle. Many visitors end up staying longer than planned, transforming from short-term tourists into long-term travelers. This has shaped Lijiang into a relaxed, creative, and international community.

A Highland Outdoor Paradise
With its mountains, rivers, and open skies, Lijiang is ideal for hiking, trekking, cycling, stargazing, and other outdoor adventures, earning it a growing reputation as a highland activity hub.
