Wuyuan Travel Guide, Jiangxi
Wuyuan: China's Most Beautiful Countryside, Straight from a Postcard. For international travelers seeking poetic landscapes and authentic cultural depth, Wuyuan is more than a destination - it is a living Chinese ink painting, gently preserved by time. Widely celebrated as "China's Most Beautiful Countryside," its charm lies in breathtaking seasonal scenery and the rich heritage of Huizhou culture. Each spring, rolling valleys and terraced hills are blanketed with vast seas of golden rapeseed flowers, framing white-walled, black-tiled Huizhou villages like natural oil paintings. In autumn, a unique local tradition known as "Sun-Drying Harvests" (Shai Qiu) transforms the countryside into a festival of color: villagers display red chilies, corn, chrysanthemums, and other crops on bamboo trays across rooftops and windowsills. Against ancient architecture and forested hills, the scene feels vibrant and timeless. This living cultural landscape earned Huangling Village in Wuyuan a place on the UN World Tourism Organization's "Best Tourism Villages" list in 2023, confirming Wuyuan's status as one of China's most unforgettable rural destinations.
