Tianjin is one of the four provincial-level municipalities in China (the others are Beijing, Shanghai and Chongqing). Tianjin, together with its neighbor Beijing, are considered as the most two important cities in northern China. Beijing is the political power and Tianjin is an economic giant. It is on the crossroad of several major railways with easy access to all big cities over the country, and only 30 minutes train journey to Beijing with the intercity line. Tianjin is also the largest port in northern China serving as base for freighters and cruises like Carnival, Princess, etc. For visitors, the city is much less famous than Beijing, but offers many points of interests from museums, to new landmarks and the European-style houses built in concession era.
