Thank you for your question. If your travel time is enough and flexible, you could visit Xining or Lanzhou. Xining is more convenient for trains, with more popular scenic spots like Ta’er Lamasery, Dongguan Mosque and Qinghai Lake, etc.. Xining and Lanzhou locates on the edge of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the biggest difference lies in the different ethnic customs, in Tibet you will experience the unique Tibetan culture, in lanzhou and xining, is the hui community.
