Tongren (同仁) is a county-level city located in the southwest of Gansu province. It is situated in the traditional Tibetan area of Amdo and is home to a significant Tibetan population. Tongren has numerous monasteries and temples, and the best-known is Wutun Monastery, which is considered to be one of the most important Tibetan Buddhist monasteries outside of Tibet.
