Dunhuang introduction

Dunhuang is known as "a glittering pearl that adorns the Silk Road" boasting greatest treasures of Buddhist art in the world. Lying in the northwest of China on the edge of the Taklamakan Desert, Dunhuang was an important stop along the ancient trading route, a site for Buddhist religious activities, and a border town protecting the region. And now it is the national historical and cultural city. Among the many impressive sites, the world-class Mogao Grottoes with invaluable murals and sculptures is a must see. Then comes to the Yangguan Pass, the crescent moon lake and singing sand dunes. Many visitors extend their trip from here to cities in Xinjiang, or combine visit of Jiayuguan, Zhangye, Xining to see beautiful landscape.
