Shanghai is China's largest metropolis and a popular tourist destination for visitors all over the world.

If arrival by international flight, you will be landing at Pudong International airport. Guide will hold a name sign out of luggage claim area. Then transfer you to hotel to check in. Recover from flight journey and prepare for the trip.

Shanghai city tour

Activities: Shanghai Museum, Oriental Pearl Tower, the Bund

Start around 8:30 am from your hotel to Shanghai Museum. It is one of the most incredible museum in China housing more than 120, 000 pieces of collections. Then take a leisure walk along the Bund area. It is now regarded as the symbol of Shanghai with more than 50 European style buildings remaining from the last century.

Standing on the other side of the Huangpu River, opposite to the Bund area, is the famous Oriental Pearl Tower. It ranks the third highest TV tower in the world. There you will also get access onto the tower to enjoy bird-view of the most beautiful parts of Shanghai. Sightseeing today also include a visit to the French concession.

Shanghai to Guilin via flight

Activities: Yuyuan Garden, Nanjing Road

Spend most of the day in Shanghai before taking late afternoon flight (FM9331 Dep 17:25 - Arr 19:30) to Guilin.

Guided sightseeing includes Yuyuan Garden, one of the renowned gardens in south China, retaining some of best Chinese traditional architecture and culture. Then have a free exploration of the local market outside of the garden.

Before onward to the airport, enjoy some free time at the Nanjing road, where is the most famous shopping streets in the world.

When arrive in Guilin, local guide will pick you up at the airport and accompany the rest of days in Guilin, Yangshuo and Longji.

Li River Cruise

Activities: Li River Cruise, Yangshuo

Today, you will take a 4-hour cruise journey from Guilin to Yangshuo and delight in the spectacular views along the river. Crystal water, local fisherman, bamboo rafts, water buffaloes, rice paddies fields with erected limestone peaks as backdrops, make it a very picturesque and different from the metropolis.

Discover the west street of Yangshuo and experience a biking tour to the outskirts if weather permits. If interested in the evening show of Impression Liu – directed by the nation's most famous director, you can inform the guide the day before or early in the morning to book tickets.

Back to Guilin in the evening.

Longji Rice Terraces Fields

Activities: Longji Rice Terraces Fields

Drive 100km northwest to Longji Rice Terraces Fields which enjoys the same popularity as Yuanyang in Yunnan. Small van or sightseeing buses stop near Ping'an village and you need to walk up the steps for about 20 minutes. After a break in the local restaurant, continue a walk up to the mountain top and through the fields. A great photograph opportunity awaits you there.

Have lunch at local restaurant in the village. Then back to Guilin city in the late afternoon.

Guilin to Xian via flight

Activities: Shanxi History Museum, the Great Mosque

Take morning flight to Xian (Hainan Airlines HU7730 Dep 10:50 - Arr 12:40), and spend the rest of the day discovering the city.

Xian is the oldest of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China, having held the position under several of the most important dynasties in Chinese history. Many cultural relics remains from centuries.

Shanxi History Museum is the best place to recall the memory of history splendor. It is built between 1983 and 2001, which is said to be the history of China. It is one of the first huge state museums with modern facilities in China. Four major galleries in large, Tang-style buildings house a vast and impressive collection, beautifully displayed.

The Great Mosque is one of the largest Islamic mosques in China, which covers 12,000 square meters with the pavilions, halls and gateways. This is an active place of worship for the Hui descendants of Silk Road traders and travelers. You can also explore Muslim Street, find the fine Chinese jade.

Terracotta Warriors

Activities: Terracotta Warriors and Horses

Drive about 37k m to the founding place of Terracotta Warriors and Horses. It is discovered in 1974 by local farmers in Lintong District, Xian, which is a collection of terracotta sculptures depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang. Drop a visit at Xian Imperial Fine Arts center.

When back to the city, visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, located in the southern suburb of Xian City, which is built in the 7th century to house the Buddhist materials. It is a well-preserved ancient building and a holy place for Buddhists. The Temple complex has several large halls with some great Buddhist statues and murals.

Xian to Pingyao via high speed train

Activities: The Mingqing Street

Take morning train from Xian to Pingyao. Train journey is around 3 hours.

Pingyao is located in central Shanxi province in China. The town has a history back to 2,700 years and once was a financial center in late Qing dynasty. The streets, city wall and residences are largely preserved to their historical appearance. It's been a UNESCO site and a place for the annual world's photograph festival.

You will spend most of the day discovering the streets, relics left in the town.

Activities: Shuanglin Temple, Wang Family Courtyard

Shuanglin Temple: Also known as "Double Forest Temple", Shuanglin Temple is located about 20 minutes drive from Pingyao Ancient Town. Shuanglin Temple was built about 1,500 years ago, and is renowned for ancient locust trees, steles, frescos and especially the vivid and well-preserved colored-painting mud sculptures which number over 2,000.

Wang Family Courtyard is a huge and magnificent courtyard complex occupies a higher ground and overlooks a vast horizon. Its total area is about 250,000 square meters, among which 45,000 square meters (one fifth) is open to tourists, with 123 courtyards and 1118 rooms. It gathers all the major features of north China folk houses. Its building and decoration reflect the strict hierarchy back then, and the carvings and statues all imply lots of meanings and stories.

Pingyao to Datong

Activities: Hanging Monastery, Yingxian Wooden Pagoda

There are currently only few slowest trains from Pingyao to Datong. We will drive for about 5 hours to cover the 240km and visit the famous Hanging Monastery en route. The Hanging Monastery was built in 491 and has survived more than 1400 years. It stands at the foot of Mt. Hengshan. Since it hangs on the west cliff of Jinxia Gorge more than 50 meters above the ground, it is called Hanging Monastery.

On the way, you will also view Yingxian Wooden Pagoda, the oldest and tallest wooden pagoda in China, which was built in 1056.

Activities: Yungang Grottoes, Nine-Dragon Screen Wall, the Huayan Temple

Spend the whole day discover Datong. Today highlight visit Yungang Grottoes, located about 16 k m west of the city of Datong, which are ancient Chinese Buddhist temple grottoes. They are excellent examples of rock-cut architecture and one of the three most famous ancient Buddhist sculptural sites of China. All together, the site is composed of 252 grottoes with more than 51,000 Buddha statues and statuettes.

You also enjoy Datong Nine-Dragon Screen Wall, which is the oldest and largest glazed screen in China. And expanse The Huayan Temple, which is the largest and most perfectly preserved temple of the Liao (916-1125) and Jin (1115-1234) dynasties in China. This temple is considered a museum of art of the Liao Dynasty.

Datong to Beijing via flight

The city has much to offer to every visitors and you will start sightseeing after the short flight journey. 798 Art District, located in Dashanzi, Chaoyang District of Beijing, which has promoted to the nation's largest and most influential international arts in recent years.

The Summer Palace, the largest and most well-preserved royal park in China with a long history, which has long been recognized as 'The Museum of Royal Gardens'. The Palace is an amazing complex of buildings, which serves as a popular tourist destination and recreational park. In the summer time, a cruise on the lake also included to have good view of the park. Sightseeing includes Lama Temple - the largest and most famous Tibetan Buddhist temple outside of Tibet since 1744.

Great Wall Tour

Activities: the Mutianyu Great Wall, Olympic Green

Take about 2.5hours drive northeastwards to The Mutianyu Great Wall, located in Huairou County 70 km northeast of central Beijing. Mutianyu section was built in the mid-6th century during and well preserved to its former appearance. Visitor-friendly facilities are available. Cable car takes you to a good section, where you can walk along the wall and enjoy superb views.

On the way back, explore Beijing Olympic Green, constructed for the 2008 Summer Olympics, which is an Olympic Park in Chaoyang District.

If time permits, drop a visit to Shahe Cloisonne Factory.

Beijing city tour

Activities: the Forbidden City, Jingshan Park, Temple of Heaven

Full day guided tour takes you to the most important sites of Beijing city. Start from the Tiananmen Square, the largest public city square in the world.

From there, you will enter the south gate of the Forbidden City. Built in 1406 to 1420, the Forbidden City, the Imperial Palace which was home to 24 Emperors, has influenced cultural and architectural developments in East Asia and elsewhere.

Outside of the north gate, stands the Jingshan Park which covers 23 hectares (57 acres). It is also a good place to have a bird view of Forbidden City.

After lunch, continue on to the Temple of Heaven. It is a complex of religious building built in 1420 for the emperors to make sacrificial ceremonies and praying for harvests. It is now also a place where local people dance, practice Taichi and various kinds of exercise.
