Arrival in Beijing

Beijing is the capital of People's Republic of China with very convenient flight connections to all the major cities in the world.

If arrival by international flight, you will be landing at Beijing Capital Airport. Guide will hold a name sign out of luggage claim area. Then transfer you to hotel to check in. Recover from flight journey and prepare for the trip.

Full day visit of Beijing city

Activities: Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, Jingshan Park, Hutong

Start the tour from Tiananmen Square, the largest public city square in the world with a total area of 440,000 square meters. Standing on its four sides are the Forbidden City, Memorial Hall, Monument and Capital and National Museum.

Then you will enter the Forbidden City through the south gate facing the square. Built from 1406 to 1420, Forbidden City is located in the city center, and has influenced cultural and architectural developments in East Asia and elsewhere.

Exit from the north gate, drop a short visit to the Jingshan Park which is adjacent the Forbidden City covering 23 hectares (57 acres). It once was the royal garden in Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasty and offers nice panorama view of Forbidden City.

Sightseeing in the afternoon also includes Hutong Tour in Xicheng District. Hutong has long history dating back from the Yuan dynasty. It witness the change and develop of Beijing and showcase the normal life of the city. More than 20 alleys are well preserved in the development of modernization.

Great Wall tour

Activities: Temple of Heaven, The Great Wall

Pay a morning visit to Temple of Heaven, which was built for worship purpose. Another UNESCO –listed site today is the thrilling Great Wall of China. We choose the Mutianyu section, 70km northeastwards of Beijing City, which has well preserved from its original appearance. The 2250 meters wall has unique characters like the watch towers, and offers breath-taking scenery from the top. Visitor's facilities are well developed well.

Beijing to Huangshan via high speed train

Activities: the Summer Palace

Spend some more time discovering Beijing, before taking train (train No. G303 Dep 12:30 - Arr 19:01 ) to Huangshan.

The last stop in Beijing is Summer Palace or Yiheyuan, which is a good combination of natural lakes, hills with artificial pavilions, halls, palaces, temples and bridges. In summer days, a boat trip gives very special feeling of this former royal garden.

Afterwards, take train from Beijing to Huangshan.

Yellow Mountain

Activities: Yellow Mountain

Yellow Mountain Scenic Area is a mountain range standing 90 km away from Tunxi city(Huangshan city). It is known for its peculiarly shaped granite peaks, Pine trees, hot springs, and views of the clouds from above.

As one of the most popular destination and UNESCO listed sites, it is visitor-friendly place with cable cars and make it accessible onto the top from three sides. Few hotels are allowed on the mountain and offer thrilling experience to enjoy a sunset or sunrise view if weather permits.

Huangshan to Hangzhou via high speed train

Activities: Hongcun village, Xidi

After a morning exploration of the mountain, you will take cable car down and head directly to another shining pearl of Huangshan – Hongcun and Xidi Village.

Hongcun village is one of China's top 10 charming villages, consisting of aged houses, stone bridges, water lily ponds and hills as backdrops. It is very picturesque and becomes training bases for many painters and students. Together with the Xidi nearby, the village became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000.

In the afternoon, take express train from Huangshan to Hangzhou. Guide will see you off at the station and Hangzhou guide will pick you up when you arrive.

Hangzhou city tour

Activities: West Lake, Lingyin Temple

Hangzhou is located in northwestern Zhejiang province, between Shanghai and Ningbo. It was one of the seven ancient capitals and the southern terminus of the famous Grand Canal. Hangzhou is also regarded as one of the most beautiful cities in China with many heritage sites including West Lake.

Spend the whole day visit the West Lake, the best known attraction in Hangzhou, Lingyin Temple - one of the largest and wealthiest Buddhist temples in China, and Meijiawu Tea Plantation which is a 600-year old village with more than 500 households major in planting and producing tea.

Hangzhou to Suzhou via high speed train

Activities: Suzhou Gardens

Suzhou is located in southeastern Jiangsu Province of East China with a history dating back to the 10th-century Song Dynasty.

Hangzhou guide will see you off at the train station. On arrival, Suzhou guide will pick you up and continue sightseeing. Tour today focus on the sites along the canal, which is part of the Beijing – Hangzhou Grand Canal, circling the Suzhou ancient city. The oldest parts of canal dates back to the 5th century BC, and finally completed during the Sui dynasty (581–618 AD) to be the longest canal or artificial river in the world. A boat ride will give you an insight view of the old city alleys and local life.

You will also view the Humble Administrator's Garden, considered to be the finest and most impressive garden in all of southern China and the largest garden in Suzhou. Continue your exploration of the Master of the Nets Garden though one of the smallest, a visit at night can let you enjoy the traditional Chinese singing and musical instruments. If there time permits, we will stay for a while in Suzhou No.1 Silk Factory.

Suzhou to Shanghai

Activities: Ancient town of Tongli

Drive about 1 hour from Suzhou to Tongli and spend two or three hours wandering the amazing ancient town of Tongli, which is given the nickname "Venice of the East". Among several dozen old water towns around the Shanghai and Suzhou, Tongli is easy to reach from Suzhou city. For escorted tours, we usually drive to Shanghai and drop a visit to Tongli en route. For independent traveler, there are frequent buses head directly from Suzhou.

Comparing to Wuzhen and Zhouzhuang, it is smaller and less developed. Many locals still live and work in the town.

After lunch in the town, drive directly via highway to Shanghai hotel. A Shanghai guide will pick you up for the rest of days the next morning.
