Pingyao to Xian via high-speed train

Take morning train from Pingyao to Xian. Train journey is approx. 3 hours via high speed train.

Xian had been the capital of 13 dynasties and kingdoms in China's history. The city features numerous historic sites including City Wall, Terracotta Army and Tombs.

On arrival, your guide will meet you at train station. Start visit of City Wall, a landmark of Xian and once was the fortification encircles the old Xian city. Drop a visit to the Muslim quarters in the area. Later check in your hotel and enjoy leisure evening on your own.

The evening Tang Dynasty show is also a great choice for optional tour.

Xian to Luoyang via high – speed train

Make the most of your experience in Xian with a visit to Terracotta Army - a large number of underground army buried 2km in front of the Emperor Qinshihuang's Tomb in east of Xian. Visitors can view 1,868 unearthed terracotta warriors and chariots that have been restored to their former glory.

Take late afternoon train to Luoyang. Train journey is approx. 2 hours.

Luoyang to Shaolin Temple (return trip)

As one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China, Luoyang is regarded as one of the cradles of Chinese civilization. Lie in proximity to the city, there are several famous cultural and historical sites including Longmen Caves, White Horse Temple and Shaolin Monastery.

Today you will drive some 60km to Shaolin Monastery and Songyue Temple Pagoda. In addition to being the cradle of Chan (zen) Buddhism, it is the birthplace of Shaolin Kung Fu and many other Chinese martial arts. Your visit also includes a Kung Fu show performed by Shaolin Monks. Later back to Luoyang for overnight stay.

Luoyang to Shanghai via high-speed train

Take a visit to White Horse Temple – one of the famous Buddhist Temple in China. Then highlights your visit to the Longmen Grottoes – one of the four largest grottoes in China with tens of thousands of statues of Buddha and his disciples carved on the cliffs of Xiangshan and Longmenshan Mountains. Later, drop a visit to Luoyang Museum which houses the treasurable relics discovered in Luoyang.

The overnight train to Shanghai departs at 23:00 and arrives at 8:00am.

  • Beijing, Pingyao, Xian, Luoyang and Shanghai are conveniently connected by high-speed train or overnight k trains.
  • Train tickets in China are put on sale 60 days before departure. If your inquiry is sent within 60 days, the itinerary may have to be revised a bit depending on the tickets availability.
  • Although all train lines in China do not have formal luggage restrictions currently, it is wise to travel light. There is no luggage assistance available and you may need to carry the luggage go up and down stairs as some stations have limited number or no elevators at all.
