Tiananmen Square is the world's largest city square. Surrounded by many imposing buildings including the Heavenly Gate, Museums, government buildings and Chairman Mao's Mausoleum, it is a landmark of Beijing.

The Forbidden City was home to 24 Emperors for almost 500 years from Qing Dynasty to Ming Dynasty. The complex is well preserved with 980 buildings over 720,000 m2. Great squares, halls, gates, gardens and courtyards form a 'city within a city'. Since 1925, this imperial palace had been turned into a museum exhibiting extensive collections of artifacts and artwork.

Unlike the high-rise buildings, Hutong exemplifies real life of ordinary people in Beijing. Taking a rickshaw tour to navigate Hutong and stop anywhere to take photos. You will be surprised by the courtyards, local market, local customs by getting to the deepest Hutong alleys.

Beijing (Great Wall)

Visit Temple of Heaven and the Mutianyu Great Wall (with round way cable car), stop over at Cloisonne Factory.

Mutianyu section of the Wall is 70km northeast of downtown Beijing, a bit further than the most popular Badaling section. It is less crowded and the view is spectacular. The wall is well preserved and restored with rails at the steep points. Other facilities like cable car and toboggan are also available. For many people, walking up the seemingly endless stairs to the top is also a great experience.

Temple of Heaven is a complex of religious building built in 1420 for the emperors to make sacrificial ceremonies and praying for harvests. It is now also a place where local people dance, practice Taichi and various kinds of exercise.

Lama Temple or Yonghe Gong is a living temple in Beijing. It is the largest and most famous Tibetan Buddhist temple outside of Tibet since 1744. Halls, pavilions, incense burners and statues are in good maintenance combined with Tibet culture.

Summer Palace in Beijing is said to be the best preserved imperial garden in the world and the largest of its kind in existence of China. It consists of natural hills, lake, and over 3000 man-made pavilions, palaces, temples, bridges and corridors. It is quite enjoyable to have a relaxing stroll, a boat cruise or discover the aged architectures.
